Captain Thunderpants Testimonial
Captain Thunderpants

Hello ladies!!!

Thought I would forward an article published in this month's Endurance News about Ainsley and Thunder.

ENDURANCE NEWS ARTICLE
(PDF Format)

The two of them had a blast last season...they placed second for juniors in endurance in the entire midwest in UMECRA (Upper Midwest Endurance and Competitive Ride Association) and first junior in DRAW (Distance Riding Association of Wisconsin). She also placed in two hunter jumper shows and has created a ribbon/photo shrine to Thunder in her room. We had a ton of fun riding together and our ponies attracted so much attention everywhere we went.

The best part is the relationship between the two of them. Thunder really adores her! The vets were amazed that on rides when he comes in to the vet checks his heart rate will drop instantly if she whispers in his ear. He's the only horse that comes to the gate when we go to the barn, so that always makes her feel so special.

Just thought you'd want to know he's happy and doing great! We are so proud to have him in our family. Thanks again!

Take care, Pam

DiamondJGR Royal Blue Jewel Testimonial

Jewel is a 2005 APHA filly out of our broodmare Sugars Blue Mist. We sold Jewel in March 2008 with about 30 days under saddle.

Just thought I would give you an update on Jewel AKA “Diamond” now. I put 2 weeks of hard training on her from April 12 – 26th. Her left front foot had a small abrasion on it and she kept hitting it and it turned into proud flesh that would not heal. I gave her a 6 week break for it to heal up. Then I took her to Cross Country Trail Ride at Eminence, MO for 10 days of trail riding. She did a great job down there and she led all of the trail rides and was always the first horse out to test how deep each river crossing was. The first river we crossed she had to swim and she handled it very well. I took her to a Rodeo a couple weeks ago and she was very interested in cows so I had her do turn back all day. Over Fourth of July weekend we took her camping and she was the leader again all weekend and did great. For as little of time I have put on her in training she has yet to spook at anything or refuse to do anything, very eager to learn. I can crack bull whips off of her even while standing on her back and throw ropes at dummy cows without any problems. This week I leased her out to an 11 year old to show her at a fair this week. He had never ridden her or led her around. He placed 4th with her in the mare halter class and 4th in showmanship. He then placed 4th in pleasure with her and 5th in pattern riding. He then asked me if she does barrels and poles. I said not that I have ever seen so he tried pole bending and got 3rd. She has been the best horse that I’ve purchased this year. Out of 7 others she is doing very well and out of those 7 others she is the only one we still have. Every time I do something new with her or she does something very impressive for what little time I have on her my fiancée looks at me and says and for $100 dollars difference in price you almost didn’t buy her. Thank you for such a well mannered and tempered horse. Attached are some pictures of her while down at Missouri riding and one of her right after we freeze branded her on her left hip.

Diamond

Take care, Dustin D. Smith
